Gene was a generous and kind hearted friend to woodworkers from all over Central Texas. He treated his woodworking buddies as his family. When asked for help he would drop whatever he was working on to help his friends. His shop was the focal point of many hours spent with his friends teaching and making a large array of projects. Some of the items were for “Safe Place” here in Austin. Some of those projects for children were cars, picnic tables, play house, wooden kitchen appliances and chairs. The Georgetown rescue shelter for animals benefited from the use of his shop and expertise. Owl boxes have been made for another animal shelter “Wildlife Rescue” in Austin. Gene’s quick wit and sunny disposition will be missed by one and all.
